Job Description:
Ground support crewmember for aerial (helicopter) pesticide application in forestry. Duties will include pesticide handling, mixing and loading, detailed record keeping, and includes working safely around aircraft, safe driving practices, and maintaining company vehicles and equipment. Other duties may include fuel handling and/or fuelling aircraft as directed by the Pilot in Command.
Work involves extensive travel throughout British Columbia and Alberta, and individuals must be accustomed to working long hours. Individuals must be able to withstand the rigors of fieldwork which includes early mornings, split shifts, and evenings. Work will include weekends and statutory holidays as well.
The Ground Crew – Loader works as part of a three-man team with a Crew Chief and Pilot in Command. The Pilot in Command is the team leader.
Qualifications:
Must possess a valid Canadian driver's license. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and provide a Driver's Abstract with their resume. Standards and measures of work include safety, trust, professionalism, customer service, teamwork, consistency, and production. Preference will be given to applicants who hold some or all of the following:
• BC and/or Alberta Pesticide Applicators Certificate – Forestry Category
• Survival First Aid – Level 1 and Transportation Endorsement
• WHMIS training
• S100 Forest Fire Suppression
• Transportation Dangerous Goods
• H2S training
• ISO 14001 and EMS training
• Power-saw training
• Bear Aware training

Class 1 and Class 3 Truck Drivers
Job Description:
Class 1 Drivers:
Hauling offroad, granulated fertilizer from a mill or railyard loading site to a worksite off-highway to support helicopter operations. Once employment has commenced, driver will be paid daily rate (plus per diem and accommodation pay) until the projects are complete, regardless of whether or not any work takes place for that day.
Long hauling, bush/project work. Work includes, weekends and holidays. Will be away from home and on projects until complete, approx. 4 months.
Class 3 drivers will haul granulated fertilizer mostly off-highway to support helicopter operations, relatively short distances in a tandem or tridem grain bin style truck (no long haul and no sleeper duty, you will be put up in a camp or motels).
Necessary Experience: highway and off-road (forestry roads) driving, B-train hauling, winter driving
E-log experience an asset.
Mountain road hauling experience an asset.
Must be fluent in English, verbal and written.
Pay: Day rate $400, Per diem $50/day, $30/day sleeper birth bonus (or travel trailer) paid 7 days/ week for whole term of employment.
